  • Me and the Calgary Airport are BBF since I have spent at least an hour there everytime I have flown to Ontario in the last few months. On Wednesday, one plane was early, the one leaving was late, so I was there for three hours. I have a favourite meal there, and I saw an old crush there this week. That's why we're BBF

  • I forgot to call Renee.

Graduation weekend. This is the first one that I have missed in three years. On the upside, it was nice not to have to sit through it. Upside again; it was 27 degrees in my backyard today (I'm at home, not in my yardless basement suite). Upside; Ontario is always home. Downside: Renee was the last friend I had who was a student, and I missed it. Oh little friend. We're movin' on, and H&M had a sale on sparkly earrings today and I thought of you. Isn't it bizzare that sparkly earrings make me think of Renee?

I just finish reading the third of the Anne of Green Gable's series. It's about her college years, and getting her BA in English. It's made me all sentimental. We lost the fourth book from my mom's set years ago - so I've never read it. Here's to book five. I think I've missed Gilbert and Anne's wedding. That's proably for the best right now.

  • Have you ever read something by an author who you've read a lot of autobiographical stuff by? It's strange, because reading Anne Lamott's novels, the scenarios are pulled right from her life, and all the characters are her. Maybe we all just see everyone in our lives as greater or lesser parodies of ourselves?

It means that I'm definitely finding her novel interesting, but not surprising. Maybe I just need to not read so much by one author all at once. The other books I brought on this trip are "Like Water for Chocolate", a Mexican novel that was refered to in High School by a very cool English teacher, but I've never read it; "The Source" by James Michner, basically a brief rundown on what it would have been like in a city in Israel from the early days of man until modern (1980's) times, it's all archeology and fiction, and I like it; and finally "How to Make an American Quilt", it was a Winona Ryder movie in the mid-nineties, I think it's like a precursor to the ya-ya sisterhood, and all those other books about looking into your mother's/ grandma's past to find out who you are as a woman and a human, etc. I'm here for six days. I hope I have enough. That's the curse of being a fast reader. People are always amazed, but you have to bring pounds of reading material with you where ever you go so you don't run out.

About Me

  • Batman is my favourite of all superheros. I like mystery novels. Books in general. Movies. "Films". Wildflowers. The smell of fresh cut grass and rain in the trees. Anyways, I like Batman because he made it into the League of Justice without the aid of superpowers. It gives me hope.
